Moreton Bay’s top dogs revealed

Doggy data has revealed the top 10 breeds and names of man’s best friend in Moreton Bay region.

Border Collies are “pau-ficially” our leading breed with 4764 registered with Moreton Bay City Council.

Second is Labrador Retriever 4060, then Maltese 4032, Staffordshire Bull Terrier 4009, Australian Kelpie 3041, Australian Cattle Dog 2576, German Shepherd 2211, Jack Russel 2036, Cavoodle 1874 and Cavalier King Charles Spaniel 1857.

Bella has come out on top of residents’ favourite name for their pet pooch with 872 followed by Charlie 728, Luna 696, Molly 606, Ruby 593, Buddy 888, Daisy 572, Coco 539, Max 530, Rosie 438.

There are 66,844 dogs registered – a figure which is steadily increasing as an average of 240 new residents arrive each
