No new community COVID cases

By Tyler Nash

There were no new COVID community transmission cases in Queensland yesterday, State Premier Anastacia Palasczuk said this morning.

There were six new COVID cases in this state – but all were people currently in hotel quarantine.

The Premier described it as “wonderful news”, however masks must still be worn until April 15.

Latest figures

Queensland’s figures currently stand at 73 active COVID cases in hospitals and yesterday 5396 vaccinations were given taking the state’s total to 94,762.

Health Minister Yvette D’Ath, the State Member for Redcliffe, said she was hearing of a “very high compliance with mask wearing” and urged anyone with symptoms to get tested.

“Would like to see those testing numbers stay high in this 14-day period,” she says. “I hope by tomorrow morning we’ll have 100,000 vaccinations in Queensland.”
