New home for Angel needing T.L.C

By Tenika Sanders

There’s been good news for a little dog whose owner died in a house fire at North Lakes last month. Thanks to the efforts of Northshore Pet Resort’s owner Kylie Mackay, Angel has found a new home with Bevin and Betty Smith at Burpengary, who are already showering him with love.

Kylie says it has been a perfect match and Bevin and Betty are the right owners for an older dog needing some TLC. Angel is almost 12 years old.

“They are really genuine,” she says.

Angel was one of several pets inside a home at North Lakes, when the devastating fire happened in early April.

Lucky escape

Angel was rescued and taken to North Lakes Vet Hospital, where he and the other animals remained for a couple of days after the fire.

Northshore Pet Resort then took Angel and one of the other dogs in, offering temporary accommodation.

“Whilst one dog was adopted quickly by a family friend, Angel was still in need of a home and Northshore provided his next of kin with free accommodation over the following weeks while searching to find a suitable family for his adoption,” Kylie explains.
