Expanding the Koala Habitat in North Lakes

The Moreton Bay Regional Council will be carrying out several Koala habitat restoration projects including; 1200 koala habitat trees and 1000 shrubs and grasses planted in 2016 in North Lakes! This will increase koala habitat and safe movement opportunities. The Moreton Bay Regional Council will be re-vegetating a block of land at 10 North Ridge Circuit, North Lakes (council owned). The area is located near the North Lakes Environmental Reserve, and is a critical part of bush land for Koalas. The Council will also be hosting a “Plant a tree for koala awareness” day on the 11th September, so make sure you join the North Lakes community for a fun-filled day of planting trees and learning more about how to expand the koala habitat.
