New free water refill stations open

By Tanayah Wakefield

Unitywater has installed five new water refill stations in the Moreton Bay Region – ahead of Plastic-Free July – to help keep the community hydrated for free.

As part of Unitywater’s Water on Tap program, the water refill stations aim to reduce single-use plastics that can end up in local waterways.

Unitywater Executive Manager Customer and Community Katherine Gee said the new stations took the total to 23 in Moreton Bay and 60 across Unitywater’s service region.

Five new locations:
Sandstone Point Oval, Sandstone Point
Bob Brock Park, Dakabin
Symphony Park, Burpengary
John Oxley Reserve, Murrumba Downs
Clayton Park, Beachmere.
