Safety boost for Albany Creek roads

By Tenika Sanders

New traffic lights and U-turn facilities will be installed as part of a State Government project to boost safety and reduce congestion at three Albany Creek intersections.

Designs have been released for the $2.8 million project, which will upgrade the three Old Northern Rd intersections.

Transport and Main Roads Minister Mark Bailey says the upgrades will reduce the risk of crashes, particularly for drivers turning right from Old Northern Rd into Albany Forest Dve.

“This project will improve safety for motorists turning at Albany Forest Dve, Folkstone Ave and Janice St intersections and ease local congestion,” he says.

“We want people to spend less time in traffic, so they can get home to their families and friends more quickly and safely.
