$60 million Powerball win for local

By Tenika Sanders

Just as a Bribie Island man was lost in a daydream about how a lottery win would change his life, his phone rang with the life-changing news he’d won a staggering $60 million in last night’s Powerball draw.

He was the only division one winner in the Powerball draw 1499, drawn on February 6 and will pocket the entire jackpot prize of $60 million.

When an official from The Lott called with the life-changing news straight after the draw, the ecstatic retiree said he was just about to doze off to sleep.

“I’ve just gone to bed!” he said.

“Oh wow! You’re kidding. No way. It’s after 9pm but this calls for a bottle of champagne!

“Is that real? I can’t stop laughing. Holy s***! I’ve won $60 million?!

“Now my wife can’t stop laughing too. She’s in shock!
